SafeGuards has partnered with Mazzoni Center, GALAEI, ASIAC, Colours, and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to bring a new public health tool to Philadelphia. InSPOT is an free, anonymous, and secure online service that can be used to notify sex partners of a possible exposure to a sexually transmitted disease (STD), such as syphillis or even HIV. While SafeGuards and other public health organizations encourage people to talk to their partners about STDs and to tell their partners if they have been infected with an STD we know that this is not always possible. Since many people do not tell their sex partners about STDs, providing a range of options for partner notification may be a more effective public health strategy.
